Repost from 12/21/12;
God always does… something devastating in the lives of arrogant, prideful people and He does it right before they’re very eyes. Surprisingly, they miss the boat every time. They miss it because they have made themselves gods, unaware that doing so barred them from access to God’s wisdom, which is reserved only for those who acknowledge him as their Lord and Savior.
Time and time again He shows us that He’s able to secretly thwart any plan man orchestrates, while completely masking his omnipotent confidentiality. You see it every time, what man does for bad, at the end of the day God uses it for good. A lot of people, mostly unbelievers, see these events as a plan that simply backfired. But we know better!
It’s deep but it’s true…Isaiah 5:21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own site.
Jeremiah 45:5 Should you then seek great things for yourself? Seek them not. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the LORD, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.'”
Romans 11:20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
Romans 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
A perfect example of how God works his plans in spite of man, is what occurred during the presidential election. There were those who tried to buy an election, having no regard for what the majority wanted or needed. Carl Rogue’s Super Pack..Speaker Boehner’s GOP control, big money, falsely summized victory. In their eyes and in error, the deal was sealed.
But something went terribly wrong, not just yesterday, but even today. In essence the Lord raised up the lowly, gave them wings to soar with endurance to ride out the and win over the storm. The oppressor tried every trick in the book. Psychologically they attempted to brain wash folk through right-winged media, alleging victory ahead of time in and effort to stamp out hope, which would result in fewer people getting out to vote. Here again, God stepped in giving the 48% Mitt Romney is not concerned about courage to fight a good fight, even if it looked like they might not win. He forced us to get in the ring and let him do the rest. “Have faith in Me was his message.” At the end of the day Christians know it ain’t over until God says it’s over anyway.” Now we’re here on a “fiscal cliff” little does the enemy know we’ve been there before, at least a thousands times, on the verge of falling of a cliff, even if it was only in our minds. So whatever happens we are not afraid. In fact we’d rather go off the cliff than be economically forced off the face of the earth; being the 48% and all!
Because we know He’s the only way maker out of no way, we are not afraid. We the lowly have learned not to be alarmed by what evil men dish out in this life, because eventually the meal he served will be regurgitated right back on his plate. Often it happens in his lifetime, but more often it surfaces in the lives of future generations, descendants if you will. Do they know the essence and consequences of the evil they promote?
Arrogance, pride, and stupidity are surely man’s cocktail for demise. Because of it he is blinded, foolish, stubborn and rebellious. Though he finds temporary gratification in material things gained, or in people who meet his standards, it’s brevity snuffs out any real progress or reward. That’s how God planned it. Basically the prize for disobedience is no peace, no joy, and an affliction of an unsettling spirit to it’s rebellious one. To possess an unsettled spirit is mental and emotional torture. Who wants to be searching constantly for success, joy, peace, love and contentedness? Again, about that desert; it is a place where one wonders aimlessly in hopes of finding water that will quench thirsts that nothing in the world can’t satisfy. Riches won’t do it, the love of your life can’t pull it off. God is the only source of relief and He warns us there’s a price for that relief. The price is to become humble, put him first and turn everything you have over to him.
In the Book of Psalms Chapter 107, the Israelite‘s are chronicled during their time of wandering in the desert. The writer says that some wondered in the desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their trouble…Psalm 107:4-8
Then it’s said; some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death…Psalm 107: 17-18
Are we there yet? This is a question no man wants to answer because a truthful answer would surely mean that demise is too close for comfort….
I don’t know about you, but I believe God’s about fed up with man’s arrogance, pride and stupidity, his cocktail for demise.
