Ministers of the New Covenant
3:1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? 2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. 3 And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
Is the devil making you do it?
If there was ever a time in your life when you felt the need to prove yourself in the eyes of non-believers and believers, then you should read 2 Corinthians 3. Nothing disturbs me much more concerning Christian matters than seeing a self-proclaimed Christians, promoting themselves as though the Spirit of the living God is really in them. It’s an overkill, because in order to be noticed they need to wear a sign that reads I am a Christian. Others come across like bible beaters, or holy hell raisers misusing God’s Word. It’s no wonder people are not convinced. Nobody’s going to buy something the seller has little or no knowledge of. And believe it or not, saving souls is a little like selling a product. Essentially, in the case of spreading the gospel and witnessing to God’s lost sheep, the product is you. And don’t ever get it twisted, as a disciple of Jesus you have been given a divine assignment to deliver a letter from Christ, and the letter is you. Yoh has been charged to deliver your letter in a Christ-like manner or the Lord may resend your authority to deliver. The confusion you cause his sheep will return unto you. Is the devil making you do it?
When I see believers I expect to see people who look like God recommended them. When God recommends a child to carry out his will, the letter has already been written and under no circumstances should the contents be disturbed or distorted. Christians should be an open book, one that requires no dictionary to read, or wearing a sign that read “I am a Christian.” And since God is not an author of confusion, his disciples, apostles, preachers, evangelists and followers must show Christlike behavior. They are commanded to represent themselves as a letter from Christ, bearing hearts capable of loving unconditionally.
A few days ago I saw a question posted on Facebook, written by a woman whose confused by the actions of some Christians or religious folk. Her post reads like this:
WHY IS IT THAT SO MANY SO-CALLED “SAVED” FORMER SLUTS, ETC. NOW SEEM TO THINK THAT THEIR ROLE IN LIFE IS TO SIT ON A HOLY THRONE AND CAST DOWN JUDGMENT ON “SINNERS” AND CALI-FORNICATORS?
This woman has a point because as Christians we should be concerned with perception when that perception is fact based….even when we claim “the devil made me do it.” Obviously recalling Christians is in order.
In my opinion, people like this are simply fooling themselves, which is not of God. The problem is not their past, it’s their present. Again I see them as “dry-drunk Christians” who changed how they look on the outside, some even stopped drinking and drugging, but on the inside, they’re still riddled with a sinful and hateful spirit. They are sick and evil, still allowing the devil to make them do it. That’s why they judge because it’s easier to be a hypocrite when you’re playing with God, or not fully committed than it is to love one another unconditionally. Taking the speck out of another’s eye fuels their life. They don’t know or comprehend that it’s possible to not like somebody’s lifestyle, but still love them because God loved them first. There’s no honor or spiritual recognition due to those who only love people who love them…or people easy to love. You have to get down in the trenches with lost people to realize the nature and extent of their pain. Realizing the nature and extent of one’s pain is necessary if our intentions are holy and sanctioned by God. I don’t care how much you’ve done to help another, it’s not enough until you’ve helped every other person you can while you can, in this brief life. Help is not limited to things but encompasses emotional and spiritual components. too.
God is recalling all Christians who don’t understand their mission or purpose. That shoe fits if you are unworthy of carrying the letter of recommendation, written on your hearts, or that you are a letter from Christ, with the Spirit of the living God, on the tablet of your hearts. It’s not enough to go to church….
Furthermore; people should not be so bothered…. in the presence of those who profess to be witnesses for Jesus Christ. Basically, if I suffer persecution at the hands or lips of a professed Christian, then what good is that Christian to me or anybody else in this world.
