The world would have us believe God is a respecter of persons, an admirer of men or easily impressed by futile knowledge. That’s not the case though! God chose the lowly to rise above the highest. What that means is no matter how smart, rich and famous you are; a person of lesser prominence can become more important than you. The Lord is continuously thwarting plans, crushing synthetic dreams and causing teams to go solo.
This should not be too difficult to digest, since Jesus, the only son of God was born in a manger, and had no crib for a bed. His Father was a carpenter, his mother a homemaker. You see where I’m going here? The greatest man in the world came into this world poor!
You should study the following scripture very carefully, especially if you’re full of pride. Pride is blinding, it’s prevents you from seeing the forest from the trees. That’s because God wants us to depend on Him for vision, guidance and deliverance. Money can’t deliver, nor popularity or worldly knowledge. Only the love of God and His grace is enough.
For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in- the- presence- of- God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1; 26-31
