Re-post: Thank you Lord for waking me this morning and allowing me to see another day. As I begin my day…please order my steps in your world…so that I don’t go astray. It’s not easy being human. There are so many challenges to contend with that sometimes I get weary. Is it because I’m worried about preserving things that are not mine to keep? Sometimes I get weary.
Remind me Lord of how I came into the world and how I will leave….that memory will enable me to stay the course. You said;
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will depart….”The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, may the name of the Lord be praised.” Job 1 21:22
These thoughts I wrestle with are not of you my Lord, for they are of a restless nature…am I being considered? The consideration is a test I know, one I can only pass through prayer and supplication…basically with you on my side…
In the Book of Job….we learn about how Satan sets out to test us through various phases of our life……Sometimes I get weary.
New International Version (NIV) Job 1: 6-8
6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
Satan can only make us weary if we give him permission to do so. He comes as a thief in the night because he wants to catch us sleep….unprepared. When Satan comes into our lives its to consider us….he is a restless creature, determined to destroy as many of Gods people as he can. It seems he never sleeps, shown by how he answered the Lord…when asked “Where have you come from?” Satan said “from roaming through the earth and going back and forth….
There is no rest for the weary because that spirit is of Satan. He attacks us when we are at our lowest…weary and spiritually deficient. Knowing that…we should look to the Lord in times like these…for He is our only help.
Even Job….who was blameless before the Lord got taunted by Satan. Yes he was tested…No he didn’t fail, because He took it to the Lord in prayer. And after Job consulted the Lord he waited…for an answer. Sometimes I get weary.
We too can do as Job did…which was to wait on the Lord and not allow Satan to steal his glory. It’s a test we all must take. Always remember; joy is a thorn in Satan’s side, and a force he hates to wrestle with!
