The biggest mistake people make when considering jumping ship from a commuting job to a virtual one is this:
1. Thinking anybody can work from home and be successful.
Fact: Working from home is not a fit for everybody who wants to work from home.
One of the most important assets a work at home worker needs is self-discipline. Just because the boss is not standing over your shoulder does not mean you can let your guard down. In fact, it’s just the opposite, especially if you end up working for a reputable work from home company. Some companies even monitor virtual workers by camcorder. That said, work from home gigs may be all the rage but not necessarily easy to land. The vetting process can be a little unnerving.
Fallacy: All work at home companies allow you to choose your own hour or days. Companies must satisfy their client’s demands, which are based on need. During certain times of the day calls may come in sporadically, while at other times back to back. Not having an adequate number of people available to handle anticipated call volume can result in poor customer service. In this respect, the way virtual customer service works is identical to the way customer service departments operate in offices away from home. Virtual job positions demand responsible, dependable and professional workers.
Legitimate work a home companiesvet perspective work from home representatives through phone and /or virtual interviews, aptitude assessment tests, computer skills tests. Email access is a must. Communication between perspective work from home applicants is primarily done through email. If you are one of those people who rarely check their email that will have to change.
Be cognizant of your email address, if it’s unprofessional or inappropriate for business the company may judge you by your email address. Having an email address for business only is smart.
The initial stages of applying for virtual work entail completing an online application, inclusive of a background check. After researching upwards of 10 work from home companies I found that all require background checks. Moving forward hangs on passing the background check. The company does not invest additional resources until they know that the applicant cleared their background check. Typically, background checks go back (10) years. Never give false information on a background check but only answer questions that are asked. Less is more.
Address verification for background checks: Checks go back several years so be prepared to list them. Again, if there are gaps in residences an explanation may be required.
Background checks go smoother when applicants provide requested information and documentation within a timely manner. You must provide proof that you graduated from high school. If you do not have a copy of your diploma get documented proof of graduation records from your high school and fax them to the requester. If a delay is anticipated in obtaining documentation of any type let the employer or background company know immediately. Now days, every job applicant must prove they are eligible to work in the United States. Additionally, employment history must be verifiable for the last 2 years. If the last company worked for is out of business, have legitimate W-2’s ready to fax as proof. Should you have gaps in employment, like 6 months or more, write a short letter explaining the reason for the gap(s).
Don’t let this little surprise catch you off-guard
The application process for many virtual assignments include on-camera interviews. The camcorder interview serves 3 purposes.
1. The employer sees your physical appearance.
2. The employer gets to test your language and speaking skills
3. The employer finds out how computer literate you are.
Work At Home: Are Psychic Christian’s Bogus? A while back I starting giving thought to the kind of work-at-home career I might enjoy during this phase of my life. In between jobs, not as young as I used to be, and demanding fewer material things, work at home opportunities sounds appealing. Even though I’ve applied for numerous jobs nothing worth mentioning is panning out.
While I love blogging, it’s monetary rewards are not substantial enough to stand alone as a source of income. Yet, I still love blogging. So what I’m doing is being pro-active! I’m looking for the perfect work at home not job. The problem is that there are so many scams out here involving work at home jobs.
Researching work-at-home options is imperative to avoid being taken advantage of. So far after extensive searching, I must say, “I don’t like what I found.” Essentially, I ran across a lot of scams, most involving upfront fees or costs. Being old school, I’m not with paying money out of my pocket to get a job! One work at home position that caught my eye was “psychic advisor.” Now I am no psychic, but like helping people. It seems that some psychic sites offer non-psychic advice. My first thought was, “I can be a Christian advisor offering clarity and guidance to visitors.
Work At Home, virtual assistants have become popular even though Psychic Christian’s may be bogus. The reason I say this is because “everybody whose claiming to be psychic is not psychic.” However, not having psychic abilities doesn’t mean that one is useless in the coaching, guidance or counseling arena. In fact, many Christians have god-given talents designed to help others find clarity. The reason I say work at home “psychic Christian, or any psychic claiming to be a Christian may be bogus stems from what the Bible says about Psychics.
I love inspiring, encouraging and empathizing with others when my guidance helps them get to a better place spiritually and emotionally.
As a non-traditional minister and blogger I feel compelled to make sure that whatever I do involves helping people.
The most effective way to do that is use my God-given talents. What are they? Empathy, showing compassion, caring for others, offering guidance all come natural to me. Being hospitable is another virtue that should not be underestimated. Making another comfortable during difficult times speaks volumes..\
After much research I have discovered that one of the most popular online work at home job online Psychic Advisors. Initially, I researched several online psychic sites. To my surprise, each one had psychics claiming to be Christians or believers. There were spiritual advisors, Christian life advisors, psychic coaches, . Once I saw them, I thought my prayer to find a work-at-home job I would enjoy, had been answered. But no, it still was not done deal by any means.
Over a period of days to follow God began to intensely speak to me on this issue involving work at homeChristian psychics. In fact, once I began this journey to work at home as a Christian Advisor my spirit began to feel tormented. This occurred after visiting several different psychic sites. On at least three occasions after reading Scriptures that day, each appeared to be specific to the psychic world. A day or so after I came on board with one of the sites, following is the first day’s scripture God showed me. Once I read the passage I had no doubt God was trying to tell me something.
There’s just no other explanation…..because I had no involvement in selecting those scriptures, yet they hit home. Basically, I got up like I always do, logged on to my iPad, went to the Bible Gateway App; clicked on the icon and saw the Verse of the day, which was:
“But if serving The Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or,the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household we will serve The Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Now on that same day, this same verse appeared in my journal, on the bottom of the page I wrote my daily entry on. Yes, “it was Joshua 24:15 again.” Two times in one day!
When I read this scripture I became obsessed with learning more about what God thinks about psychics. Initially, I tried to tell myself that since I wouldn’t be providing psychic advice, contacting the dead or reading the stars I would be OK. But then my conscience wouldn’t let that be. It provoked me to look at big the picture while honing in on the driving force behind psychics.
Bottom line; once I got a clear understanding of what psychics, mediums, astrologers, clairvoyants and the like do; as well as why they do what they do; why God detests what they do, I had to review my decision.
This is what I found. Regardless of whether psychic readings come from work at home agents or office agents spiritually, there is a problem. I would be terribly remiss not to add this warning before anybody of the psychic world reads the post; “don’t shoot the messenger!” In other words, this is what The Lord says about psychics, not me. And this is where the question raises its head again, asking;
“Is it possible to be a Christian and a psychic?”
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1Peter 5:8
The Bible strongly condemns spiritism, mediums, the occult, and psychics (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13). Horoscopes, tarot cards, astrology, fortune tellers, palm readings, and séances fall into this category as well. These practices are based on the concept that there are gods, spirits, or deceased loved ones that can give advice and guidance. These “gods” or “spirits” are demons (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). “A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.” Leviticus 20:27
9 “When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,5 anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or medium or a necromancer or cone who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, 14 for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this. Deuteronomy 18:10-13
After reading what the Bible says about what the Lord thinks about fortune tellers, divination, mediums and the like, whether performing work at home activities or from an office, I knew the practice was not acceptable in Gods sight.
No matter how I flipped it I just couldn’t wrap my head around being a Christian psychic collectively. It seems the two cannot coexist. By this time I had clarification and understanding, and there was no way I was going to dismiss or ignore what the bible says about psychics, sorcerers, mediums, and the like. Long story short, I had applied to (2) psychic advice but not as a psychic. My niche was Christian guidance, clarity and direction for people struggling to overcome various obstacles. I got approved, but after processing this new-found knowledge on spirit ism I declined, canceled both.
After this God pointed me back to a site I initially passed up, because there was a $50 fee to become an advisor in the Religion/Spirituality category. However, this site is a paid expert site for people who want to coach, advise, guide and help people find solutions for problems in their life. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to: Tutors, Teachers, Therapy, counseling, Spiritual/Religious Advice, Life Coaching, Love and Relationships, Grief, Divorce, Psychics, and more.
While they do have psychics, the site is not exclusively for psychic advice. To my surprise, the majority of people visiting this site was looking for psychic advice. These people wanted psychics to predict their future, read them, tell fortunes, and the like. Though I would not have to deny Jesus or pretend to be something I’m not, like a (psychic), I would be advising on a site known for its psychic connections. My salvation is a priority.
2017 lists a few more advisor sites that don’t advertise as psychic based. If you love talking or chatting with people check out the list of advisor sites below. I make no guarantees about either site. It is your responsibility to research.
