Discover the Secret to Living an Abundant Life

We know who we are? Other people do too. Living abundantly and living loosely don't play well together, because one permits and allows people to disobey the Creator, break laws, rules and hearts un-apologetically...

Abundant life constitutes more than fortune and fame. Rather, “Abundant Life” means that you live a life showered with God’s Favor, His grace, His forgiveness and His cover. To experience such a wonderful life the Creator demands faithfulness, and first place. Yes, there is a price to pay. No, “you cannot live an abundant life unless you kill the sinful life!”

To prove that the Father is not part of a life that He is not Head of He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on Cross for our sins. Jesus also wept.

Knowing this, “our hearts must be weep too” given that we are still practicing the same gravity of sins that brought him to the cross. However, its not to late to try again, repent again, mean it again, and ask for strength to stop practicing sin. Old habits are hard to break, but they can be broken.

Collectively, spiritual gifts such as GRACE from God pave the way for believers to live an Abundant Life. This life is fruitful, rich, essentially worth dying for. It is important for every Christian to understand that without GRACE there is nothing that we can do on our own to initiate an Abundant life. Likewise, securing the guarantee of an eternal life exclusive of grace is equally impossible!

All have sinned and will continue to sin at one time or another. The question is “will we continue the practice of living in sin?” Obviously, the key word here is “PRACTICE.” There are several definitions of “practice,” however, the following two definitions leave no room for confusion.

Practice:

1. perform (an activity) or exercise (a skill) repeatedly or regularly in order to improve or maintain one’s proficiency.

2. carry out or perform (a particular activity, method, or custom) habitually or regularly

We know who we are? Other people do too. Living abundantly and living loosely don’t play well together, because one permits and allows people to disobey the Creator, break laws, rules and hearts un-apologetically. Additionally, rewards earned for living loosely pale to the magnificent worth of those gifted by God in an abundant life.

The problem with living loosely is that the bar is set so low that anybody can climb over. As it may be, no matter how short one falls, loose lives permit them to climb over, regardless of the magnitude of spiritual or moral values. God on the other hand has high expectations! Basically, you can’t just do any and everything and not be held accountable in some kind of way.

Accountability for transgressions manifests in many different ways through out one’s lifetime. Sadly, sometimes its difficult to connect “the punishment to the crime.” The word “crime” here is used as a metaphor, referring to, and corralling common transgressions that most humans engage in during a lifetime.

At the same time, believers must be cognizant about appearing to believe that in some way they may have an upper-hand, be better at covering up personal sins, or denying that they too fall short, than another.

“Sin will not be your master, because you are not under law but under God’s grace. So what should we do? Should we sin because we are under grace and not under law? No! Surely you know that when you give yourselves like slaves to obey someone, then you are really slaves of that person. The person you obey is your master. You can follow sin, which brings spiritual death, or you can obey God, which makes you right with him. In the past you were slaves to sin—sin controlled you. But thank God, you fully obeyed the things that you were taught.” Romans 6:14-17

Throughout their journey God constantly replenishes vessels before they empty, never leaving the “bowl of life” void of anything meaningful and necessary. The world will never understand the Joy He gives to those who believe, nor can they replicate even a morsel of the essence. At the end of the day, “Abundant Life looks like glimpse of heaven on earth , and feels like a life-long miracle in the works. Abundant life is clandestine in plain sight for every Christian. Accordingly, the life breaths beneath the delicate petals of beautiful flowers, through babbling creeks, against gentle blowing winds, underneath majestically flung clouds, in voice boxes of birds singing in the air, and in the gathering of loved ones around the dinner table. Abundant life is also evidenced in , a space to call home, people to make others feel at home, the village that never closes, the sparrow that watches over that which mere eyes cannot see, a church home built on solid ground, a man-for-God who practices what he preaches, a soul that longs to touch the hem of His garment and of those who barely have a garment. Abundant life is so much more than the eye can see.

Abundant life is not about excess, its about being blessed, and equipped to pass God’s test! The term “abundant life” comes from the Bible verse John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” “More abundantly” means to have a superabundance of a thing. “Abundant life” refers to life in its abounding fullness of joy and strength for mind, body, and soul.

DAILY DOSE

Father, come into my life with might; show me the wonderful blessings that I may not see, but already have. Lord, bless me with an Abundant Life. Teach me how to debase myself so that you can lift me up to heights that I never imagined were possible.  I know that I am not perfect, blameless or worthy of Your Love, forgiveness, or favor, but thank You Jesus, anyway for blessing me with all of these things and more. In closing, Lord thank you, “for not treating me as my sins deserve.” Amen!
