Old Things Must Pass Away Before A New Thing is Born

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36: 26

The most authoritative proof that “old things must pass away to live a successful Christian life” can be found in the Bible. This warning is so far-reaching that multiple Scriptures impart an exact message and warning.

Essentially, any life void of God cannot exemplify characteristics of one born again.

Old things? How do you live a successful Christian life? The first thing you have to do is kill everything that contributed to spiritual separation from God.

Old things, specifically old habits, are hard to break. In fact, many people perfect patterns of behavior that threaten salvation. Even worse, some do wrong for so long that deplorable actions seem right. For this reason, souls must be cleansed before they can be born again. Old Things Must Pass Away Before A New Thing is Born!

In short, to be saved, we must first accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Furthermore, believing God’s Word, and repenting of all sins is not optional.

To be born again entails dying a divine death and coming as a new creature in Christ. A “babe-in-Christ, is the product of rejuvenation, a result of shedding old things.

As it may be, “leaving old things may mean walking alone, parting with the most familiar people and or things in life.” This is necessary so as not to be distracted by worldly attractions.

Accordingly, “born again signifies the beginning of the end of living in sin. Additionally, this is the only way to express one’s desire to intentionally live a God-filled life.

The following Bible verses embody God’s directives for becoming a new creature in Christ while clarifying how to exchange old things for new ones.

“He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,” Titus 3: 5

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! ” 2 Corinthians 5: 17

John 3: 3-7

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You[ must be born again.’  John 3: 3-7
