“But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
Most people have a lot on their plate these days. Some have so much that there appears to be no room for other people’s emotional cuisine. On the other hand, “Being believer’s and all” that attitude may present a problem.
Just because we tell ourselves that there is no way we can help another because of what was going through doesn’t make it so. Likewise, the moment we entertain thoughts of this nature is the second that we begin to doubt God’s power.
Remember, God already knows what’s on our plates before we see it. In essence, He knows all of our problems, our sorrows and the full capacity of everyone’s being. For this reason, we should never assume that God would call on us to do something that was impossible.
The heart answers to two powerful forces, one being God Who is all-mighty and the most powerful. The other force is the “dark one.” You don’t have to be a believer to figure out who the “dark one” is.
Consider the depth of the following Scripture: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” ~ Revelations 21:4
Now, think about this. Once God answers your prayers, or is in the process of answering them, what will you be doing in the interim? Surely, you won’t be so busy that you cannot help another, after all, “you’ve given your heartache over to God.” Thank God you knew, or that somebody told you that, “Only God Can Lift A Heart Up Out of the Dark.”
While nobody expects anybody to neglect themselves emotionally or physically in a way that would cause harm to loved ones, helping others should be a natural labor of love. Nobody should have to draw a picture of how it feels to carry around a broken heart. You know because you’ve been there and felt that!
Every believer is charged with convincing others by example that “Only God Can Lift Your Heart Out of the Dark.” God expects us to provoke the lost to trust him because of what they see in us. The first thing people come in contact with when they meet you is your heart. If you are a Christian then somewhere along the way God Lift your Heart out of the dark.
To care for others we must give of ourselves, which usually requires sacrifice. To sacrifice means in ways that command time, love or money, we need God. One definition of sacrifice is: “A sacrifice is a loss or something you give up, usually for the sake of a better cause.” https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/sacrifice
A heart for a heart? To recognize and care about another’s broken heart one must have sacrificed his or her own at some point in life. There are many ways that humans can sacrifice hearts but only One who can lift your heart up out of the dark.
The most troubling kind of situations for many involves affairs of the heart. Contrary to popular belief, “Affairs of the heart” are not limited to romantic encounters.

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4: 6
Nobody can unbreak hearts like the Lord. Because He never changes, loves us unconditionally, and hurts when we hurt, we can trust Him with our hearts. The world offers temporary fixes, but if we accept Jesus as Lord, repent, and believe, He gives us eternal life. Satan, on the other hand, has no heart, feels no pain and hates God.
So, if Satan causes heartbreak, not God. And, about the break; “not only does the devil not care whether it is repaired, but he also couldn’t fix it even if he wanted to. His job is to break as many hearts as he can.
